Annual Awards Dinner

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Annually the Crescent Bay District recognizes those special individuals who give so much of their time to the youth of our community. This recognition is given is several ways.

The Silver Dolphin

The most notable recognition is the presentation of the Crescent Bay Silver Dolphin (BSA District Award of Merit).   This is the highest honor that a district may grant to an individual.

This award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. The award is made annually on the basis of nominations that are received from the district volunteers themselves. Each year the District will award between three and five Silver Dolphins. A professional scouter may not receive this award based on employment service. However, the employee who also serves as a volunteer Scouter may be eligible based on their volunteer service. There are serveral requirements in order to nominate an individual for this award.

  1. A nominee must be a registered scouter.
  2. A nominee must have rendered noteworthy district level service in support of the youth in our community.
  3. Consideration must be given to the nominee’s Scouting position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of that Scouting position.
  4. The nominee’s attitude toward and cooperation with the district and/or council is to be taken into consideration.
  5. Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards.
  6. Completion and submission of the nomination form.
  7. It is not appropriate to nominate a Scouter who has already received this award.

Completed District Award of Merit Nomination Forms should be delivered to the district office no later than September 30th. Please include your contact information, in case there are any questions.
