The Annual Crescent Bay District Awards Dinner is less than two months away — Saturday, November 5th.
This is a big event, and one that we need you to support. Each year the District recognizes and thanks the many volunteers who give so much of their time to the Scouting Program. This is your opportunity, as a member of the District, to personally thank these tireless individuals for their efforts and time. Without them, we would not have a Scouting Program on the westside.
Below is the formal invite, along with the nomination form for the Silver Dolphin. If you have any nominations, please make sure that they are received at the Scout Office no later than October 28, 2011. You may also send your dinner reservations to the office as well.
This year, lets see a great turn out by our District Members.

2011 District Awards Dinner Invite
Annually, in November, the Crescent Bay District recognizes those special individuals who give so much of their time to the youth of our community. This recognition is given in several ways, but the most notable is the presentation of the Crescent Bay Silver Dolphin.
The Silver Dolphin (District Award of Merit) is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. Those who provide a direct service in support of the Crescent Bay District are recognized for their contributions to the entire local scouting program. This is a recognition for district work above and beyond their efforts with their unit or charter organization. The award is made annually on the basis of nominations that are received from the district volunteers themselves. This is the highest honor that a district may grant to an individual. A professional Scouter or other council employee may not receive this award based on employment service. However, the employee who also serves as a volunteer Scouter may be eligible based on their volunteer service. Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards. It is not appropriate to nominate a Scouter who has already received this award. In addition to the Silver Dolphin, the District will recognize those individuals who have been nominated by their peers and recommended to the District Committee as a Scouter who goes above and beyond the norm in delivering the total Scouting Program. They have provided noteworthy service to both their Scouting Unit and the Community. These are the Crescent Bay Silver Scouters.
The District will also recognize those individuals who have gone above and beyond in their service to their individual unit. These are Scouters who are reliable and are always willing to take on any assignment. These are the Crescent Bay Extra Milers.
There may be other awards and recognitions given during these dinners.
