District Scouts Participate in the Culver City Centennial Celebration on September 16th!

Six units from the Crescent Bay District have been invited to participate in the final event of Culver City’s year long Centennial Celebration on September 16th, 2017 in the Veterans Memorial Park of Culver City.  Our Scouts will be setting up six different areas that showcase different aspects of the Scouting program.

  • Troop 16; Troop 50; Troop 108 and Troop 113 will have mock campsites setup demonstrating what they do when they go camping and the types of activities they participate in like building camp features using lashings; cooking; compass reading and more. And as a special treat,Troop 108 will erect a Monkey Bridge that the children can try their hand at crossing.
  • Cub Scout Pack 18 will have an area featuring activities cubs participate in during their meetings and activities.
  • The Culver City Police Department Explorer Post will have a display highlighting the features of their program that shows the training and special skills taught to the members of the post.

The scout area, located on the baseball field, will be open to the public to come and view and ask questions about the scouting program and how they can become involved in a local Pack, Troop or Explorer Post.

In addition, the scouts will be seen volunteering in other aspects of the celebration by running game booths, helping with parking and assisting with other events.

The event is being held from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and is free to the public.  We encourage all scouts and their families to come on down and participate in the fun!
